ProTrack A Grader
At Port Adelaide - Oct 17th 2010
Event 1 - 120m Open - Heat: 1
Position Name Colour Mark Time
1 Jordan Caldow Red 7.00m 12.630

and at Stawell, on Tuesday April 26th 2011, in the last event of the carnival:
Stawell Gold Mines Gift Winners’ Gift – 120 metres
Result Adj Time Lane H'Cap
1 Completed Jordan CALDOW 13.044 2 0.25

So as well as all his other victories in between on the grass and on the sand, Jordan Caldow won the first and the final races of the SAAL season.*

Congratulations to Jordan Caldow
and best wishes for the future.

(* Okay, maybe the Stawell carnival is not really SAAL, but I have a fully paid up poetic licence and I would not want a small detail to mess up a fine piece of trivia and a chance to pay tribute to a rising star).

Good call Stokesy.

Terrific run by Jordan Caldow on Tuesday to take out the Gift winner's Gift. First prize was $5,000.

Pity Caldow did not run in the Gift - he might have been the only SA runner to advance beyond a heat.

Can't recall the last time not a single SA athlete was not in the Stawell Gift semis.

Can't complain about the handicaps; all were reasonably competitive - the six SA athletes in the heats just weren't good enough to run the sub 12.60 off their mark to qualify for Monday.

SA Stawell Gift semi finalists last 5 years -
Steve Landers
Damien Byrne

Brad Letton
Clay Watkins
Steve Landers

Damian Tohl
Dale Woodhams
Andrew Steele (4th in final)

Dale Woodhams (2nd in final)
Ben Koschade

gday youngy just wondering if you might have taken a video of jordons run at all...thanks

Sorry birdman, I can't help. Unfortunately I did not film the Gift winner's Gift. I was on the ground at the time and my camera was still up in the grandstand.
