Looking forward to another great race at the Steampacket Gardens on Saturday.

Tips for the final in handicap order: - (looking at 16 semifinalists)

Jasper Nettlefold - 1st Avondale open 70m, first Gift run, finalist here in 2017
Tim Escebach 5.50m - finalist in each Vic Gift run this season
Michael Kember 5.75m - placegetter at Daylesford after winning 70m
Kevin Brittain 6.50m - placegetter in Avondale 120m, home Gift
Luke Mitchell 8.00m - Ballarat win, Keilor finalist with hcp reduction
Jason Bailey 8.25m - Ballarat & Don finalist, dnr in Avondale 120m
Matthew Harvey 8.25m - will cover Keilor win hcp reduction
Rupert Lugo 9.00m - runner up last two major 120m Gifts

Outside chances -
Spencer Browne 4.50m - was close at Northcote, didn't final at Avondale
Luke Houlihan 4.75m - Maryborough finalist, Keilor 70m skins win
Hamish Robertson 5.25m - newcomer; notable runs at Castlemaine
Tim Rooke 5.50m - Don Furness 70m winner
Hamish Adams 7.00m - Avondale 120m win, 3rd Don 70m
Leigh Phelan 8.25m - 2nd Castlemaine Gift, no final at Wang or Ballarat
Callum James 8.50m - Castlemaine Gift finalist; 4th in 70m
Mark Hignett 10.50m - close 2nd in Frankston 100, home Gift

El Chapo the track is looking better than last year.
My spies tell me a local will go close.
Lugo a big chance only if on the piss at a work function the night before.
Naga (Not A Golfers Arsehole) starting to impress off big mark.
Rooke's Don win has him winning this if shows the same form. Is don is good.

Good to hear the track is in good nick. I like your tips. Wonder if it will be the local master or apprentice letting go the anchors?
The Rooklebury looks like he’s been loading up on the Don Goods; can he carry that extra beef over the longer sprint, or will a 95m bullock get the job done?
