I’m not sure how someone’s starting handicap is generated but in hindsight, if you have a Pb of 12.14 sec and are given the novice mark of 5m in the 100m (6m with the 1m Coates lift) you are going to be very hard to beat. Good luck to the winner but not so to the other 55 entries. Would that be the correct mark given in this circumstance ?
