With a week off to rest the weary muscles we turn our attention to Meadowglen. Unfortunately this event was not run last year and is a welcome return. The Men's 200m was formerly an open event and had some great finishes. There are a couple of marks that seem quite handy but as always it is up to you to vote to see what is said. I would love to see Rizzo salute from 4m even if it is just to annoy some pundits, he should be somewhat of a chance from there.

Happy voting

Riz won't finish in the same postcode as Even Stevens. Plant is underated and flying at present.

Not sure what juice you've been slurping Kangaroota but you are kidding if you think Riz would finish in a different postcode to Stevens. Luke's still not as his best. atm, Riz would match Luke over 100/200.
If they both run, I'm willing to bet a 24-hour voucher to the Crazyhorse cinema that Riz runs faster than Luke off 4m.

I think Rizzo will run a 100m in 10.10 to 10.25 in good conditions. Could easily see him make the final of the Commonwealth Games. Luke is a world class 400m runner and would make the Commonwealth 400m final. Two different types of runners, hopefully they are both running in the green and gold next year

The Master

Race between 2 at this stage, with riz just getting the nod on stevens.

Woah boy! Really - Commonwealth Games final? Don't put any pressure on the lad will you? Shocked

Rizzo hasn't even made a national final yet. Winning a pro race off 3m at Sandringham is light years from representing Australia at Commonwealth Games. Right now there's several athletes ahead of Rizzo at 100m in Australia. On national rankings as at 31/10/2017, there were 13 athletes inside 10.50sec. I'm not sure Matt could currently run sub 10.50sec or will this summer.

Just allow Matt to develop. He's an exciting talent and hopefully will vie for an Australian uniform one day. But I suspect it won't happen this season.

Rizzo ran 10.3 off 3m st Sandi making him a 10.6 runner over the 100m based on his sandi performance. But remember this is only the start of the season and he will not have peaked yet. I think he will run sub 10.5 this season once he peaks but I think 10.10-10.25 is out of his range at the moment.

feed him a dozen meat pies on the way to the AIS athletic track in Canberra and he would still run 10.3 for 100m

Untouchables - nifty alias but I reckon you're out-of-touch(ables) with the realities of elite sprinting if you think Rizzo's in sub 10.3 shape.

More chance of Tony Abbott appearing as the matron of honour at his sister's wedding than Rizzo running a legal 10.30e.*

* Starting to get into the mood for the Bay Sheffield Form Guide.  Wink

Untouchables, though I wish you were right, you'd be ill advised not to listen to the wise words of Young, whose views I share 100%, on this topic at least. Not taking anything away from Rizzo, because I reckon the kid is a Aussie star in the making, but 10.1 and more so, running it this season?! Not likely I wouldn't have thought. But boy would I love to that happen! Stevens on the other hand is also a quality runner, and making the 400m Comm Games final is a very realistic goal. Another athelte I would love to see do well on the international circuit.

All that being said, neither Rizzo or Steven will win the 200 this Sunday, not off 4m. Sorry to be a party pooper.. Matt Harvey maybe..? Will need time to think..

Probably the funniest post ever on the forum by Bad Snowman. I probably agree with you but not prepared to eat a Chocolate Hostage if he does though.

Once again, athletes will also be competing for the Barry Foley memorial medal, as well as some great prize money.

The track is brand new, so hopefully there will be some excellent racing!

Top 5 chances worth mentioning in my books. It'll be interesting to see who shows up with the ammos comp clashing.

Luke 'still looks like a kid' Stevens 4
Currently in top form and will only run if he actually believes he'll be thereabouts. If he is sort of close to PB form, he'll final. Love this kid.
I have him finishing 5th.

Rory 'face-' Plant 14
This Plant has been thriving on the marks given and he's such a talent. Might have to push a little harder than he did in the 300 @ Sandy.
Will go top 2 again this week.

Chris 'built like a house' Vi 16
Showed some surprisingly good form over distances great than 70m last season and has trimmed down a little, now built like a modest double story townhouse as opposed to a triple story villa.
Will finish 4th.

Matthew 'Little Ned Kelly' Harvey 17
If he keeps his hammies attached, he'll make another of these finals easily. He finished 2nd to Rosen in this exact race last time it was run and he was on exactly the same mark, hmmmm.
Will finish 3rd this time.

Noddy 'Goes to Toyland' Angelakos 18
Looks to have gotten his body right and hit good form again making finals despite his tighter marks. I think the shorter distance will suit the golden greek he'll likely edge out the fast finished (face-)Plant.
Will go top 2 again this week.

Good luck to all racing on Sunday @ Meadownglen.
