My picks for the Stawell Vets

Stefaniak.      Killed the field at Wang in track spikes. Will be hard to beat.
Downes .        Looked very measured at Yarra in the final after a much faster heat run.
Shillito .         POD Squad member, so will around the money at the right time.
Biggs .           Been great all year . Value bet
Boyle .           Exceptional runner in the past and dangerous if fit.
Rogers .         Close last year and probably the best he has been in the open gifts.

Im assuming the handicaps were already in place before Dunbar won Ararat and he hasn't yet been pulled the 2m required in the vets.

Downes .       Blistering run at Castlemaine
Jackson .       Tight mark but capable
Fawcett.         Good early season form
Tancredi .      Gutsy runner from the back
Whittaker .    Great gift form, probably his best chance here
Shillito .        Loves a stawell win
Martin.          Pod squad.

Take two. Biggs and Downes have done best from handicapper after very tight Yarra Ranges Vet 100m so should figure. Reid ran well last year off same handicap and Stephaniak thrashed most of the vet chances at Wangaratta.

In the 300 both Reid and Schillito handicapped out of it. Densley has two wins this season and is strong and Bailey will be very hard to catch.

Graeme Lebroy

Coulson will be hard to beat in both.... dangers could be Marcus Cooper in the 100 based on his Ararat run and Pooley in the 300 based on his consistent form.
