1 Loxton Junior races all from scratch on Tue Feb 14, 2017 2:20 pm

Just to confirm - All three junior races at Loxton will be handicapped from scratch.

This isn't such an issue with the Under 18's 120m and 300m because these races are the only combined boys & girls races (over 120m & 300m) on the calendar and the boys races are already handicapped with an athlete on scratch.

The big challenge is to ensure the girls - particularly those who may soon be exiting the age group are right in the mix for the two under 18 races at Loxton.

The Under 14's though is a different story. To be handicapped from scratch means the field will be pulled back up to 8 metres as the backmarker of this  field had 8 metres in the last Under 14's 70m race. This is the last Under 14's 70m of the season so it will allow me to recalibrate the Under 14's 70m handicaps going forward.
