1 Bay Sheff Timetable on Mon Dec 19, 2016 2:04 pm

Can someone please explain to me why there is only a 2hr 15min break (from 1st heat till the final) for the 800m Open race. But the 70m Open race from heat to semi (1st heat to 1st semi) is 3hrs 5min? They then get a further 2hrs from Semi to final!!!

Surely it isn't because they run 3 times- even with 3 completed races you are only covering 210m (if you raced off of scratch). And the intensity and effort is just as great for both races!

I realise there is 12 heats V's 4 heats (70m/800m), so they do require more time to get thru! But, surely you run the 800m earlier (not saying you need to give the 70m less recovery) in the day!

Thats because the Sprinters are so SOFT !!!!!

What I do like though about this years time table is we end with the Main races of the Carnival and not the 0ver 35/womens event.

I agree Whispers good to see the main Events on last as they should be Smile

I also hope yogizz-84 is not worried about the 800 runners only having 2hrs break for the final that would be soft as well. The quicker the turnaround the better, means you need to be in shape and be able to double up which is how it should be

Not worried at all & i cldnt agree more with what you say, re: 'The quicker the turnaround the better, means you need to be in shape and be able to double up which is how it should be!' But surely this should be the case for all events, or are as previously mentioned, are the sprinters  SOFT.

Also, good move by SAAL to have the Gift at the end, means all the races can enjoy the big crowds!
