Just a question for the Ballarat Gift organising committee.
Will Ballarat be a 1 day or 2 day event this year? Will it be Saturday or Sunday? And what are the estimated start and finish times for each day? Nitro tickets go on sale tomorrow and if the gift were to be held Saturday Night it would clash. So just trying to plan in advance

Tim thanks for your question.

Yes we are aware of the Nitro meeting on Saturday night and intend to work around it.

We will finish on Saturday before 6pm and hold a Runners Social Function at the Freight Bar (our gift sponsor) with the Nitro meet on the big screen.

Those wanting to return to Melbourne to watch it live will have time.… you know the actual start time of the Nitro Meet as this will determine exactly what time we finish on the Saturday?

Ballarat will be a two day meeting again this year, by moving to a one day meet we would lose sponsors and damage our ability to re-grow our meeting in coming years.

Also we have an extensive Little Athletes and Junior program which has huge marketing advantages for professional running and the VAL, to move to a one day meeting we would have to drop that.

We will post a Draft Program soon.

Thanks for the response Smile
Great idea to finish in time for people to get back to melb to watch it (or hang around at freight bar and watch on tv).
I have no idea about the timetable yet as I'm not sure it has been finalised, but as it is being shown live on TV, I would assume a 7 or 7.30 start time is likely. Hopefully they release more details soon to make your job easier planning around it.

We will aim to finish at around 5pm on the Saturday allowing those wanting to return to Melbourne sufficient time.
