The 3200 should be a cracker, with the back three runners grouping up to work together to try and run down the leaders. They are all close enough together at the back to be able to form a real good chase. My moneys on the red.

Well done Racingmania for having a crack.
No woman has ever won the Womans 200m off a mark as tight as 15 though ,as far back as 2001 so would think Cavouras would have the work ahead of her to win.
Well done for putting yourself out there so we can comment on your selections

possible chances include
1 David Palmer 4.00 m
4 Daniel Flesfadar 11.00 m
14 Mark Burns 21.00 m
16 Cameron White 22.00 m
17 Neil Fuller 23.00 m
19 Wayne Edwards 31.00 m

and maybe also
21 Brett Stokes 32.00 m
with Biggsy and lots of others off in Perth for the World Oldies, maybe a chance.
The weather looks a bit on the cold side for me and 168m is a long way.

Ballarat Athletic Club

Great entries in the Junior races, the SAAL must be doing something right when it comes to Juniors.

Does anyone know what they are doing to attract juniors? I notice under 14.

The Under 18 Girl's 200m should be a highlight at Flinders.

Newly crowned state All Schools Under 16 champion Melarn Murphy makes her SAAL debut.

Melarn won the 200m by about 7 metres, recording a time (25.87) significantly quicker than the Under 18 winning time (26.31).

If Melarn was with an ASA 'only' coach (of which, disappointingly, there are still quite a few) she wouldn't be running with the League. Fortunately Paul Townley is in charge and the SAAL community will get to see Melarn chasing them down on Sunday.

Melarn has been allocated scratch, which is the first time an athlete has debuted off scratch in an SAAL meet for quite a few years.

Maybe the last time was when her mum Tania Van Heer-Murphy (pictured below) ran.

From what I saw on Sunday, Melarn is a genuine contender.

I think Bulabek in the 200m is one to watch as is Norris in the 70m. Bulabek had a great Henley Meet and Norris finished last season off well over the shorter distances. As you've mentioned its hard to go past Verrall and Callahan based on form from 2 weeks ago. Both were standouts!

Cavouras a great chance to win the 200m. it will be interesting to see how she goes up against Mittiga who is off the same mark.

oops 2002 Amanda Viney.........10m
2007 Leanne Hodge..........7m

Still think it could be beyond Cavouras though.

Good to see Amanda back having a run.

I've been reliably informed (unfortunately) Melarn Murphy is a scratching due to shin soreness.

The Murphys will still be at Flinders as Melarn's younger brother Aidan is competing.

Hopefully she will be OK for Port Adelaide where she's entered for the U/18's 300m along with other quality backmarkers in Rose Pitman and Molly Farmer.
