In respect to the three junior races, the Under 14's 70m, the Under 18 Boys 200m and the Under 18 Girls' 200m - please note that I don't plan to alter any marks based on results of the SA All Schools championships which are to be held the week before Flinders.

Junior athletes are encouraged to compete in the All Schools to try and get among the medals and run a PB. in fact the results makes it easier to assess the athlete as I'm more inclined to be conservative with an athlete who has little known form, as I'm not sure what you can do.

All Schools entries can be made at the ASA website.

That is a great attitude Youngy! Athletes should be encouraged to improve without having to be cautious that their handicaps will be destroyed. Without running quickly often, it is hard to improve. I think attitudes like yours will see a lot more athletes running in both Amateur and Professional meets.

I agree with 'The Man' here, great attitude Youngy. Young athletes should be encouraged to run hard and chase PB's. Not touching their handicap in a junior race as a result is perfectly fine. I would include it for their next handicap though.

I would also suggest that if an established runner runs a PB that they should have their mark adjusted. Each time we run it is supposed to be to the best of our ability and our handicap should reflect this. Judging by his comment, I wonder if someone has the chance to lower their PB and win a few more races. Time will tell Tim, time will tell.

Great run by 'The Man' at Casey Fields, 11.55 must be close to your best?
