The main race at Ringwood is the 400m Gift. A great race in its own right, but with it being held early gives us a great look at those who want one of the major three 400m races this year with Bendigo and Stawell. Who wants the early prize?

The spread here is just too vast again, so I thought I might throw a different approach for this one. Arguably the three best 400m races on the Vic calendar are Ringwood, Bendigo and Stawell with Ringwood for me being number three on the list. You have to ask a question when it comes along first is if you can win at Ringwood you are a chance to win both Bendigo and Stawell. Am I best to win here as there are no certainties?

Who will run the best on the hard surface, who will run best in a velodrome and who will run best under the pressure of Stawell.

My final goes as follows, Greg Mitchell to win from Clayton, Page, Downes, Coop, Hargreaves. Smokie is Grouios. Wurm may be a finalist but still needs to lose a pound or two for me to get back to his best form.

Yes there is always someone who gets under your guard, but these guys seem to have the marks and the form to challenge.
