Terang backs on to Warrnambool and has the better numbers. Is there going to be more places to hide? Will someone test the new rule regarding a win and getting a mark back for Stawell.

Dobric hasn't got anything to gain for Stawell by winning this so can't see him taking it. If Rosen runs, he wins.

Rosen's ran 11.5 legal this season for the 100 and has 14.75. Won VRTA comfortably. Will romp it in.

Backing on to Warrnambool, Terang has the greater numbers in the gift and probably the makings of a better final. Another metre for Easter is hanging around but a typical front marker may not worry about that.
Tips from the poll are;

Michael Bolton 8m (32 votes) - I have mentioned already that I think he needs a few runs, but let's look at it another way. Bolton wins one of the races over the course of the weekend because he is ready for a tilt at Stawell. He then races competitively for the remainder of the season before walking to the starting blocks off 9m. If he is planning this kind of approach then, sure, he is a chance. This rule can give a few runners a chance to have a win and make a Stawell final. Not a bad season if you look at it.

Dean Dobric 10.25m (23 votes) - Dean looks like he is ready to take to a season. His mark is quite handy and he may test the waters a bit. I think he will build his mark a little bit more before having a go at something off the 11m mark. Not sure that this is his target and may be there just for the run. I don't see him beating Rosen home.

Timothy Rosen - 14.75m (23 votes) - Alright Tim, here's the plan for you. Make the final and win. Go to Northcote with a slight pull and make the final again, get to Albury and run off the limit and win there too. Can Rosen do this? Can he be a 3 x gift winner before Christmas? He showed at VRTA and the 300m series that he has improved. 11.5 as reported earlier, shows he should be around the mark. He is my tip as I think he has such a big mark for someone who had scope for improvement, then again, does he have the ability to remain clam under the pressure of expectation? Who knows what he is thinking? He may not head down the highway.

Good luck to those running on back to back days or just making the trip for one race and thanks for supporting the smaller gifts.

Does the new rule re: getting a mark back plus more for taking a minor gift apply to only the men's or is it the same for the Women's as well ?
