Brunswick Football Club Reunion - Of all fricken nights - Tonight's the Night!

Go down  Message [Page 1 of 1]

For years now I've been talking to past players & supporters about a Brunswick Footy Club reunion. Brunswick won the VFA 2nd Division premiership in 1975, 1980 and 1985.

Sadly Brunswick went out of existence in 1991. (and it still pisses me off the way it all happened...but that's a story for another day...maybe in a book  Mad )

I was a BFC life member having been a player and a committee person for several years.

In February, the night before the Keilor Gift....and during a big night at the Linc (a notorious Essendon pub), a couple of prominent players from the 1985 premiership team said the reunion HAD to happen in 2015, given the 40th, 35th and 30th year anniversary dates of those premiership years.

After much mucking around they got around to confirming a date and they decided Friday 20th November. - the same night as the inaugural SAAL - Western District athletic meet.

Now all I'm hearing is who is going and how big it's going to be.......

Oh well, the meet at Westerns tonight is going to be a great compensation for not being in Melbourne.....really looking forward to seeing how fast the track is tonight. My guess is the times for the 70m races will be a lot faster times than they were at Flinders. Conditions should be good.
