It may be a preseason race, but a final is a final. The early running looks good and the adjustments to handicaps as evident from previous seasons has made this an interesting race. Who do people like as the main chance?

The 2 backmarkers are back 14m from last years race. McDowell is back only 8m after winning 7 or 8 races last season. With the fastest time this year by Rosen of 34.47, McDowells 32.50 from last year with 8m more to run looks unbeatable if in same form. Of the others, the 2 heat winners Rosen and Grouios meet the majority of the field only 1m worse off for their heat wins. The wet track may bring Hargreaves back into it.

With the final being run tonight it will be a case of who manages the conditions the best. Some late votes for back markers probably as a result of this.

M Hargreaves 0 (1 vote) - One thing we know is that M att will be steaming home. With the race being handicapped from scratch it gives him ample time to round up most of the competitors, especially with the pace likely to be down. Would still take a huge run from him and I think he may just come up short.

T Rosen 20 (3 votes) - Another race, another vote for Rosen. The difference here is that he is right in this. His run the first week indicates he has improved over the Winter and with his marks in the season proper ripe for the picking, he will have to feature in the final makeup of the 200m at VRTA. Will likely hit the lead in the final stages or be very close to it.

D McDowell 71 (5 votes) - after running away with the final last year, Dannielle finds herself right back in the mix. The interesting question is who would win in a scratch race between DM and SH. I think DM would and she starts 1m up. This puts her out in front for a long time until the likes of Grouios and Rosen get up to her.

Good luck, I can't wait for the VRTA marks to come out, should be available early next week which gives us ample time to discuss them and vote on our tips.

Hello Mex
just a correction, Last year's winner was Loryn Savoria not Danielle McDowell.
Looks like being a very wet night
