WARRAGUL GIFT CANCELLED
posted on October 28, 2015 (http://www.val.org.au/News/tabid/132/ID/121/Warragul-Gift-cancelled.aspx)

We have received notice from the Warragul Gift Committee informing us that the Warragul Gift has been cancelled for the 2015-16 season. The VAL are now exploring potential sponsors and venues in the hope of providing a competition during this key weekend on the VAL fixture. If you or someone you know is interested in supporting a Gift on 30 January 2016 please contact the VAL on (03) 8646 4545 or val@val.org.au.

"It is with great regret and disappointment that we wish to inform you of the cancellation of this year's Warragul gift, due to be held on 31st January 2016.

We would like to sincerely thank of all of our affiliates for your years of support and for your enthusiasm towards being involved for another year - we are very disappointed to be letting you down.

Despite our best efforts, including the addition of the Drouin & District Apex Club to our committee, we have been unable to attract anywhere near the necessary amount of sponsorship to enable our event to take place. And with the majority of that sponsorship allocated as prize money, we cannot afford to risk not being able to make up these funds by other means on the day, therefore leaving competitors short of promised winnings.

We thank you all for your continued support of the Warragul gift for the past 5 years and we hope to be in touch next year with much more positive news."
