1 Improvement of the year on Wed Apr 08, 2015 4:51 pm

The improvement of the year has to go to Jeff Sargeant who won the vets 100m. Although over 120m he ran 14.1 at Albury, 13.7 at Ballarat, 13.3 at Euroa three weeks before Stawell and improved at least 5 metres in three weeks to run 10.8 at Stawell. Stewards inquiry?

DDog can you please explain your maths on how you came to Sargeant improving by 5 metres in 3 weeks from Euroa to Stawell?

Albury and Ballarat were 120 , euroa was a women's and vets 120, Stawell was 100 . Different handicaps, different distance , different times

Old and slow, by math my calculations, Jeff would have run a clean hundred in 12.8 and that was only Euroa the others were massive improvements.

Rupert Lugo. First year runner.
Here's Youngie's Bay Sheffield profile.

Rupert Lugo 24  (Forest Hill VIC) 11.00m                      Nick Fiedler
Novice athlete with a 100m PB of 12.11secs.At his last two meets he ran last in a Northcote 100m Gift heat, 7/12/2014 (12.35s off 5.75m) beaten by 10m and last in a heat of the Warragul Gift (14.48s off 7.00m), again over 10m away. New to the sport and will take some time before he becomes competitive at this level.

Stawell Bill Howard FINAL
1 Rupert Lugo 10.00m 10.66
2 William Kerr 11.00m 10.77
3 B Glidden0-Green 7.0m 10.77

Northcote 12.35 off 5.75, 10m last.
Stawell 10.66 off 10.00, 1st by 1.0m

Not bad, 12 metre improvement since Northcote.

DDog sorry still don't get your claim of a full 5 metre improvement from Euroa to Stawell - that was the specific claim that had me scratching my head?

He went 13.28 off 20.00 at Euroa so you'd expect with a handicap of 16.75m at Stawell over 100m to go about 11 dead off that handicap and he went 10.88 in semi from memory, that is not 5 metres in three weeks is it?

Maybe I'm just crap at maths....which wouldn't be the first time I've been told that.

There were a couple of big improvers , Rupert Lugo as above . Big turn around.
Bikramjeet Singh ran 13.36 at Euroa then turns out a 12.47 to beat Jack Hale in his heat at Stawell . Come on stewards / handicappers . Need to be on the job !!!!!
