Luke Stevens shafted in the Invitation Backies?

View previous topic View next topic Go down  Message [Page 1 of 1]

Could not believe that Luke Stevens was in the red in the Invitation backies. On Gift marks he should have been in yellow. No way should Hammond, Caldow, Hale start in front of him.
Caldow was chucked in. How did he get to double his mark? Saturday heats, Caldow ran 12.41 off 1.75, Stevens 12.51 off 2.50. Hale 12.48 off 2.25, Despard 12.38 off 4.25.
Despard runs only 0.03 quicker off 2.5 more but in the backies he was giving Caldow 0.50 start???????? 3m turn around from the Gift.
Stevens runs 1m slower off 0.75m more than Caldow but in the backies he's giving Caldow 1m?????
Does anyone check these before the race/ because the backies was a joke this year. Luke Stevens should not have been in the red in that field.
Caldow should have been in red off 2.
and why wasn't it handicapped from scratch????????

Baltimore Jack

For a first prize 4.5k was a strange move to change marks hugely different to the Gift marks. Shows the handicapper is confused with the backies marks. Doesn't show much confidence in what he gave as gift marks.

Why don't they just run off their Gift marks?
