Moving to one of my personal favourites this week in Bendigo. Great numbers in the gift. Something for everyone. This poll is for the gift but you could probably put a poll up for every race. Will we see a potential Stawell finalist? Can someone who has been thereabouts in all of the majors finally get over the line? Does a back marker want to add one of the old timers favourites to their collection? Does a potential Stawell finalist run too quick in the heats and semis? Who do we think?

You reckon you could get an opal poll going aswell, Mex? One of the biggest 400s on the calander.

Here we go with the last major gift of the season before Stawell. Last year Bendigo proved a great guide, as always, to the Easter racing. Will it be the same this year? Will the bookies take note of the poll and place their odds accordingly? Maybe I should get a cut?

Cam Dunbar 8.25m / Douglas Greenough 8.25m - If both these runners are in form then this is a quality tip. Dunbar has been moving well lately and has placed in recent gift finals. He should final here and being a former winner may take a crack at repeating his win. Will final and has to go very close. Greenough has been hit and miss this year, I believe injury has hampered his season, so for me the votes must be for Dunbar.

Chris Diegan 10m / Matt Harvey 10m - Not sure that Diegan is as fit as I have seen him in the past. Voting here is probably for Harvey and why not? He has made gift finals this year and has now got himself out to 10m with minimal fuss. I would think he will also make the final and may have a great battle to overcome an outmarker. If he does not fixture here, maybe he has improved enough to get into a Stawell gift final. Not sure he can win that though, but most runners would love a chance at being in the final.

Scott Rowsell 12.25m / Darren Whittaker 12.25m - Rowsell has proved to be quite an astute coach and has managed to get himself into very nice looking shape. I feel that he needs more to challenge the bigger meets and that he might be happy to creep his mark out in the gift while he pinches a vet race or two. Whittaker is a legitimate threat to this race. He has skipped plenty this year and had a major crack at every bigger race. Maryborough, Ballarat, Stonnington, why not Bendigo? The Stawell limit is too tight for him, I would expect him to have a crack at winning here before he focuses on a longer distance at Easter.

Todd Ireland 14m / Tim Rosen 14m - Ireland looked shaky at Stonnington and I would be surprised if he challenges this weekend. Rosen, Rosen, Rosen. When will he win a gift. Great to see he used his 10.25m to win a 70m at Geelong. With the better runners building towards their Easter campaign, I would think that he will struggle to make the final. He won Euroa last year and may have to try and beat off a couple of others who may have left it too late. May miss out this year now, probably could have finished the year with 2 gift wins if he was ready earlier.

I would tip Whittaker from Harvey and Dunbar.

Good luck
