I inadvertently left off a couple of athletes. Darren Whittaker & Mohamad Zeed now added to the poll.

And Whittaker is one of the one's to beat as well. He will be my pick to win assuming a couple of big guns don't want it

I agree sprintstar. Whittaker a massive chance.

Looks like a fronties race. Over 50% of votes for guys off 12.25m or more.

Tomorrow is the day and there seems to be no clear favourite. Let us look at the voting.

Carl Morehouse 5m (17 votes) - Had a good win last week, it seems he is always going for the win. Not sure if he has it in him to win back to back. Ice is his friend.

Kevin Brittain 5.50m (22 votes) - Was called in last week. Made the final of Terang and got run out in his heat at Northcote. Surely waiting for something bigger, but how can he not show more form?

Robert Spencer 7.5m (18 votes) - Spencer has changed stables, but will not have changed ability. Unlikely that he is targeting this one. Semi almost a given.

Daniel Steinhauser 8m (16 votes) - Running well without making too much noise, probably wait until the new year to see him really show his colours.

Matthew Eddy 8.5m (17 votes) - Always looks ready to win, running very comfortably so far. Does he have a bigger one in him?

Jason Bailey 9m (23 votes) - 3rd in the final at Northcote. Up and coming, looked like he tightened up last week.

Noddy Angelakos 12.25m (15 votes) - Was in all the big finals last season, first up last week. May need more runs under his belt and will likely try for that bigger gift again.

Darren Whittaker 12.25m (25 votes) - Judging by his scratching from Northcote, I would not be surprised if he is waiting to use his 12m for a bigger gift. If runs should be thereabouts. Don't think he will though.

Craig Mair 14m (19 votes) - Ran well at Northcote, the veteran looked sharp early. May hold them off for a while if he can back up.

Tim Rosen 14m (24 votes) - Rosen ran poorly last week after starting the season strong. Must be close this week with big marks this season. Should make the final and be in the mix. Is the pick for me as he cannot keep turning up and not winning, he mark is simply too big to miss out.

John Hilditch 17.5m (18 votes) - Won Terang off 18m and only back a half. Could be in the mix for another gift win here or at least a final. A long way in front and may stay that way.

The earlier the season, the more likely of a front marker getting up. Perhaps after some of the better runners will have a dip after their talk at Northcote?

Well we missed the winner. Foley (great to hear he had a win) with no votes, but many of the others received votes to a varying degree. On to Ararat for the next meet. Poll coming soon.
