ALVA GAMES [Sat 12th July]

Final preparations are being made for the ever popular Alva Games which celebrates it's 158th anniversary this Saturday. Given a good day there is always a big crowd in the Johnstone Park, and with the fairground surrounding the entire arena there is always a great atmosphere for the competitors.

There is a full programe of Open & Youth athletics on the track as well as the British Hill Racing Championships which attracts many of the top Fell runners who make their annual pilgrimage up from the Lake District.
All track events have six monetary prizes.[See below]

Feature event for the bikers is the 3200 metres Scottish Championships. All the top heavy event competitors are also gearing up to do battle.

Entries for track events are now closed.

Open events get underway at 12.30pm.
