1 World Junior Championship Eugene Help on Tue Apr 08, 2014 10:25 am

Hi everyone in Protrack land,

As most of us know, Maddie Coates is a regular competitor with the VAL. She has also been selected to represent Australia at the next World Junior Championships, in Eugene, Oregon, USA. Junior Teams are not fully funded by the ASC or AA, so junior athletes and their families have to come up with a substantial amount of money to be able to compete for their country. I too endured similar  financial challenges when I was selected for the '92 World Juniors, so I completely understand the pressure.

If we, the Pro Running community would dig into our pockets and make a donation to help out Maddie, then please visit to pledge a donation, it would be appreciated greatly by Maddie and her coach Scott Rowsell.

They are still a long way from their goal of $7,500, but we can all contribute something. A lot of small donations go a very long way, so please check it out and find it in your heart to make a contribution. We are a small community, but I like to believe we all support one another, especially the younger athletes trying to reach the stars.

Hi All,

Hana Basic & Maddie Coates, both athletes have supported the VAL throughout the last couple of years are both attempting to raise money to help fund their trip to the World Juniors.

Hana's fundraising page can be found at

Please support our junior athletes and drop a few $$$ towards their campaign.
