The Sheik

Asked around at the mosque and no one knew where Burramine is. I wonder why we have a Gift named after a place that doesn't exist?
So today's song is inspired by an answer I got from a work mate: "Burramine, where the f^^k is Burramine?"

(To the tune of Sweet Caroline)

Does it exist,
I can't begin to find it
It doesn't appear on any map,

And every spring
We check to find it
Somewhere between Albury and Ballarat

Wang, is it near Wang
Checkin at the -  RAC, bloody V,

Sweet Burramine
A name we can't find is no good,
I'd change the sign
West Yarrawonga would be good
But now I….

Drive towards Bright
I think those directions were phoney,
From the bikie with the neck tattoo,

Cos now I'm outta gas,
And it's dark & lonely,
Petrified of the bikie with a neck tattoo,

Warned, you've been warned,
Where the hell is this joint called Burramine?

Sweet Burramine
It's not quite Hollywood,
If only I'd seen the sign,
I wouldn't bother if I could
Oh no no

Sweet Burramine
On Google Maps would be good
Sweet Burramine
Change its name if it could
Sweet Burramine
West Yarrawonga would be good
Sweet Burramine

The Sheik, just to throw it out there I thought I saw a sign that said Burramine Cemetery just out of Yarrawonga on the Murray Valley Highway heading towards Cobram. So my guess is Burramine was a small town that no longer has a track suitable to run on. Keep the great songs going they are a pleasure to read......also maybe the town/hamlet is that small google maps can't even find it

Geeeeezzzzzz Sheik,

Don't let Aunty Frances know that you don't know where Burramine is........

It certainly does exist even if it is now just a spot on the map. Out on the road between between Yarrawonga & Katamatite there is a church there and behind that church is where the original meeting was held all those years ago.

You should have bought the 60th anniversary book on Burramine while you were there on the weekend and you could have read all about it.

Beware the angry
