Juddys top 5 John Dawkins memorial chances

1. Josh Dawkins (39) The obvious one! His dad's race. He will lift! Listen to the crowd and watch him go down the home straight!
Juddy feels like he would of been in the bay final if not for an incident that went unnoticed so is a big chance.
2. Jake Stangewitz (44) has been pulled 4M it seems for his third at the bay but had added a new speed element to his game after finishing 2nd in the hectorville gift and winning the 70m novice at Loxton. If he is within reach with 100m to go should win.

3. Nitchske (43) ran well at the bay to again fall short. Will go close here but not sure if he has the speed to go with Stangewitz.

4. Remphrey (45)
Murlin "wonder quads " remphrey.
Who knows what this boy can produce. Has had some rumoured health issues which is why he was off the mark at Loxton but should be starting to get back to his best now. Will final.

5. Khudoshian (34)
Serial podium getter in the big races. Bay 550m, Camden 400 and Loxton 300. I feel this one will suit him and expect him to go close.

Juddys dark horse.

Matt Fallon (54) After finishing well off the pace in his pre bay heat somehow came out and produced an upset in the heats going on to make the 550 final. If he can reproduce that here he will go very close. However have heard he has been doing a lot of longer training for ironmans so not sure how his speed will cope.

Tip. Stangewitz to just edge out Dawkins.

Wouldnt say Dawkins run went unnoticed down at the Bay.Anyone who falls on their nose and takes a tumble doesnt go unnoticed.
Noticed Nitta nominated for Bendigo, may not run at Flafstaff.

Obviously everyone saw the fall however I believe he may have made the final if it wasn't for that incident which went unnoticed by the officials. From my view it looked like he was cut off and ran up the back of someone but I may be wrong. Anyways was just trying to add some input and get some opinions for the 550.

No worries Juddy

It makes you wonder why he didnt get put into the final when we have seen cases throughout the season ,latest being last meeting at Loxton where an athlete substaining sufficient interference in his heat is promoted to the final.
One would think having your legs go from underneath you is fairly sufficient.
Not in the rules that athletes can be promoted to the FINAL but thats whats been happening.

There where some good PB's at last weekends ASA state champs, looking at the marks there might be some that haven't been declared.

Whispers top 6 for Dawkins Memorial

Hage..Just missed out on making the final last season.Ran in the faster of the two heats and goes out an extra 5m.Not too sure about his form but could be a bolter.

Dawkins.. What more can I say.Heart as big as Phar Lap will have a huge crack, but whether the 3m lift from last season will compensate the trip overseas we will find out in the last 150m of the final.

Dartnall.. Hasnt been able to run out of sight on a dark night this season.Didnt run the 550 at Flaggies last season but has been rewarded with a 10m lift for his poor from.Showed something at Ballarat then ran into trouble at Loxton and ended up in the hands of the St Johns.Maybe.

Cousins..Busting to win another sash.Made the final last season and with a couple more metres will give them something to chase.

Girolamo... Mixing distance this season with very moderate success.Made the final last season and with 6m more this year will be a huge danger if they leave him alone out front.Would be the only frontmarker with Cousins that can back up for two 550m races.

McIvor... One of the younger runners in the field. But also made the final and has an extra 5m this season. His time wasnt real flash last season but word around the traps is he has improved.

Whispers Dark Horse......... Killmier

And I think the man with the BLUE CAR could play a huge part in the over 35 120m.
With 21.75 ( I think ) and a downhill run ,watch out .

Silence from the man with the BLUE CAR so must be on the money.

hey Whispers

I tried hard, I managed two sixth places in finals which is my best effort for a while.

The 120m final saw me hit a hard patch and stumble ten metres from the finish, dropping from maybe third to sixth behind winner Biggsy.

The 400m final saw me in the lead with 50 metres to go, but I tired and was overtaken by the mob with Cameron White scoring the big money.

So local lads won both my races, well done Flagstaff.

You are pretty modest Blue Car man ,The message I received was that you had the 120m race all parcelled up until you stumbled.
Any other results ?

Whispers juddy is happy with his tips
5 out of 5 made the final.
Good run by Kostya to get home for the win
Didn't pick Girolamo but solid effort aswell for second
Good to see joshy on the podium.

Final placings
3. Dawkins
4. Jones
5. Nitschke
6. Stangewitz
7. Remphrey
I think that's the order of the last 4.

Other results
Ryder did the 70m 120m double with Stangewitz and wright swapping positions on the podium.

400m novice was ponury
400m women was Oates
1600m was a tie Earle and Watkins
That's all I took note of

Hey Whispers,

I have not often been accused of modesty, thanks for that.

Maybe I have made some progress recently with important attitude stuff.

Gratitude is the attitude.

Quite a few years ago, I first ran at the Bay Sheff, in a heat of the 120m for over35s.

There were three other runners - Frank McHugh, Mick Buckler and John Hodge.

Frank, Mick and John are all coaches now, their running days are done, with no SAAL appearances on the track for many years and none expected.

I'm still running with the SAAL - it has cost me a lot but I have received great rewards, rewards more important than sashes or prize money.

Last night at Flagstaff I had a wonderful time, thanks everyone.

I love being able to run fast and I loved being in the mix in the 120m and the 400m.

Maybe I will do okay at Pulteney on the 23rd, in the 200m over35s ...
