Are the big boys going to come out and play.

Love a Match Race Between Matt Carter and Joel Bee

Both in form, hopefully both running Vic opens or some classic events.

Picks for Friday Night ?

The 2 inform VAL runners Riali and Stevens, another good match race. Both in ripping form but how will they perform off backmarkers. Is the 100m enough as they both finish strong.

Others in the Mix

Sam Jamieson - moving very well in Ballarat
James Vine - Made a few finals recently
Dean Scaff - Haven't seen him since Maryborough but moving well then
Ed Ware - ?????????
Augustine CARTY-COWLING - Could be Favorite, very handy marks
Luke WHITNEY - Tasy Boy in good form
Ryan CAMILLE - Another good mark from our Don Furness Champ.

Should be a cracking race. Good Luck to everyone competing.

Cheers

Is Dylan Hicks coming across? If so I would throw him in I think his run at Ballarat wasn't too bad and he might be better suited to 100m.

Interesting to see Stuart Rooke entered....ran well here last year and hasn't been sighted much this year

What about the women?

I would say Purkiss, Jones, Bailey and Boustead would be in the mix.

Add Coates and Howard to the mix in the women's and there's one more I might just keep too myself

Not the draw card event but the 300m vets, assuming these guys all run is a cracking line up.

The back markers alone have featured in a few open finals in recent times and showing some form. On the off chance they all get through to the final it would be a elbow packed start. My pick is Lehman and Maurer to watch for, although they all have a lot of chasing to do to get to the front markets.

Any others picks?

Shane EZARD 1
Robert LEHMANN 3
Leigh PHELAN 4
Brett MAURER 4
Andrew WILCOX 4
Rhett MEDFORD 5
Geoffrey PITTMAN 5
Glenn ROSS 6
Paul HUGHES 8
Matthew D'ASTOLI 9

D Hicks will be a starter. I agree His run looked strong at Ballarat and could be in it.

Hey there Dizzy. No faith in your stable. No Hippo runner in the top 10 !!! I suppose after throwing Cam Clayton under the bus in your 800m post that would be the smart thing to do.
FYI, the in form Hippo boys appear to be Downes, Hippo, Clayton, Cowan, Veith, Murphy, Spence, Marantelli. O’Brien smashed them at Albury but lost a lot of time at Trinity. He can rebound. Which one can find the 10 seconds improvement?
Of the others can Rowe run sub 4.05 on grass? Will be the race of the season thus far.
