Sydney Uni staked their claim for the open men’s 4x100m at the State Relays Championships next fortnight with a rousing rehearsal in Saturday’s Treloar Shield competition at E S Marks Field.

The quartet of Justin Merlino, Jin Su Jung, Nick Hough and Jarrod Geddes zipped around the track in the very smart time of 39.96s to easily win from Trinity. To emphasise their sprinting depth, and the mortgage they have on this event, Sydney Uni’s B team won the second heat in the second fastest time of the day 43.15s.
