JH copped a big fine for his Stawell altercation. Very lucky to escape a straight ban. Ban is suspended if he pays $1000.

The Charge:

Bringing the sport into disrepute

Against: John Henry (Trainer)

The Tribunal finds that: The charge is to be upheld.

The Penalty
a. A fine of $2,000
b. A suspension of registration for a period of three years
c. A special condition that if he were to pay 50% of the fine (i.e. $1,000) and write a letter of apology to the VAL that:

i. The remaining 50% of the fine; and
ii. The entire period of suspension,

be wholly suspended for 12 months from the date of acceptance of the letter and payment

This one makes the handicapper look very silly. No excuse for the original mark of 14m. Handicapper should cop a penalty for making poor decision.

The Charge: Submitting false information on the 2012/2013 Athlete Registration Form under Section 5A - Athlete Performances.

 Against: Davina Strauss (Athlete)

The Tribunal finds that:
1. In accordance with clause 5.12 of the VAL Regulations the Athlete has provided:
a. All details of her athletic history, including organisation affiliations and athletic performances in which she competes; and

b. All further details that were required by the Handicapper. 

2. The charge dated 14 May 2013 against the Athlete, Davina Strauss be dismissed.
