The West Coast Athletic League recently held its annual awards night at Christina's restaurant. The night was a great celebration of many outstanding individual performances throughout the year, but also of a successful year for all athletes and officials involved with WCAL. Here is a list of award winners on the night:

Athlete of the year: Ben Clark

Male sprinter of the year: Alex Glorie

Female sprinter of the year: Paige Gavranich

Distance athlete of the year: Isabella Valuri

Meeting of the year: Peel Health Campus Peel Gift

Trainer of the year: Paul Edmiston

Interstate athlete of the year: Gemma Grigg

Highlight of the year: Peel Health Campus 550m Final (Peter Bol and Shane Saltmarsh)

As well as these awards a life membership was given to Matt Barber for his many years of outstanding service to the WCAL, and Olympian Ben Offereins was presented as the new WCAL ambassador.

Congratulations to all the award winners! For more information about the night (including photos) head to the WCAL website.
