I have a question for anyone that might know.
Josh Dawkins who is a novice athlete and won the consolation yesterday. Does this count as an open win and is he now unable to run middle novice events??
Seeing as how you don't have to run the consolation and it's a non penalty event nor does it count towards end of season points I would say it would be unfair if it did.

I am sure this is the first time a novice has won the consolation. The question was asked last night what that meant for his novice status and the general consensus was that it shouldn't affect it but I guess it will be something for the officials or the committee to confirm.

For anyone who knew John Dawkins, seeing his son Josh win his first race so impressively, it was a special moment. I met him for the first time last night and I was impressed with what a quality bloke he was.

John would have been looking down proudly yesterday.

Agreed I have had the opportunity to chat with him a few times now and he is a fantastic bloke.
I hope that he can still race in novice events as it seems only fair really.
Top lad and a gutsy first win.

On another note Thankyou greatly to all of the Camden members and all the officials for another fantastic meet!! The track was great as usual and the racing was excellent!!
