Hi Bmara,
If one does not 'have to win or place to gain valuable pts' how do athletes gain points out of interest?
Thanks!

Enter a distance event = 1pt
complete the journey = 2 pts
Finish top 5 = 3 pts
Winner = 5 pts.

Stefan runs every event and with his two wins has been able to maintain his lead. So often there are awards that discriminate against those that win events early; they win and "cop" a penalty, effectively putting them out of the calculations later in the season. With this system as long as you keep competing a runner can keep in touch with the leaders.
