josh ross penalty for bay sheffield win

field lifted 2 m in 120 metre's

no lift in 70 m

it seems that the field should go out in the 70m

proportionally, some would say as he did not win over a 70 metre that there was no need to give field a lift . what is to happen stonnington 100 metre what will field go out ,compared to previous
runs over 100m .i if i was giving ross advice save supreme effort for 100m

regarding e ware handicap for 70m was 3.75 maryborough now handicapped 3m ????

The 70 is not grouped with the 120 but the 100 is so therefore you would expect Ross to wear a penalty in the 100m at Stonnington. Haven't got an issue with the 70m handicap. Did Ed Ware run off 3.75 at Maryborough or was he pulled back to 3m on the day due to winning Bay Sheffield 70m?

phantom i could not get bay results for first day win 70 explains re handicap
years ago it was unheard of. matt wiltshire penalised 1m in 70 for gift win
stawellgift winner if in 70 final would be re handicapped, gold coast one year 70 final before gift ,winner pulled 1 metre for gift cost runner
win in gift final, after the runs at st albans the boss is showing how good he is will the field now get alift in 70,i'd be still aiming for 100 m as a bonus of course albury cream on cake on the way through

Interesting point you make re: Wiltshire getting pulled in both distances... I wonder what the explanation for that is.
If you get on the VAL website there is a section under Handicap Guidelines (or similar). There are so many intricacies and loopholes in the caper that it quickly becomes terribly confusing....

This discussion is about Josh Ross and how good he really is. If he can win a big 70m off scratch, good! He deserves it, hardly getting paid a cent yet he is Australia's finest sportsman.

Compare this with our celebrity alcoholic/gambling/drug addicted footballers who on average take home 250k a year and you have a crying shame my friends.

In any other country he would be financially secure and a household name. He's starting to ripen with age and I have a feeling this year he will break the 10 second barrier (hopefully at the world champs).

No more lifts - if you can't get within 8 meters of this guy give him the sash and cash!
