VIDEO: Mid-race brawl at high school athletics meet

HIGH school athletics meets are serious stuff in the United States.

So serious, in fact, that not even a fight between athletes in the middle of a 4x400m relay is enough to interrupt proceedings.

Watch the video below as athletes from Mount Vernon and Thomas Jefferon start trading blows while burning down the home straight during a race at the Hispanic Games.

But the brawl wasn't enough to stop the other runners, the announcer or the cameraman from getting the result in the book.

The stoush resulted in a month's suspension for one team and a one-meet ban for the other.
