hey over35er,

the weather does look good ...

- but for me, perfect would be 40 degrees and strong northerly winds ...

And this afternoon I visited Colley Reserve and smelled the quick dry paint that was being used to mark the hallowed grass. I spotted Mick Buckler and the Chief Steward with one or more helpers, doing the many detailed doings that needs be done.

The centre track looked pretty good, with maybe a few spotty bits at the starting end, otherwise perfect.

And I met a young woman who had just flown in from New South Wales and was taking a photo of the track to show to her coach.

Christine, running off around 4m, is favoured to win the women's 120m by several voters in the ProTrack poll.

Best of luck Christine and welcome to Adelaide.

And despite my thinking of you all as invaders coming to steal our prizes, I do want to say a big welcome to all the athletes who make the effort to come to Colley Reserve and help us celebrate the 126th Bay Sheffield.

"Welcome, runners, to Colley Reserve"
.

Thanks for that Stokesy.

If Christine Wearne (2.75) runs in the third heat of the 70m, she will just about start race favourite. A recent 7.68 for 60m in Sydney demonstrates she's in red hot form. She's my pick for the sprint tomorrow.
