This video features several heats of the 1983 Stawell Gift. They feature the main chances and were replayed on Channel 7 prior to the running of the semi finals on Easter Monday 1983.

Heat 32 was the last heat and featured three main chancs - Dallas O'Brien, Mark Hipworth and SA basketballer Al Green. Running off the novice mark of 7m, Green was an unknown having his first start at Stawell. In the 1980's heat winners only advanced to the semis, so Al Green was run out by the eventual winner Dallas O'Brien. Al Green went on to win the 1983 and 1984 Bay Sheffields.

Other heat winners in the footage are Frank Corsello, Lee Berwick (TAS), Michael Geary (TAS), John McGill, George Gregorio, Jim Thompson, Paul Singleton, Chris Perry & Rod Butterss.
