1 New Junior Series on Mon Nov 08, 2010 3:44 pm

The Victorian Athletic League in conjunction with the RACV has established a new
junior series to be run during the 2010-11 season. Eight carnivals have been
selected to hold a 120m Under 20 event. Athletes will accumulate points each
week and the top 8 athletes will run off in a final at Stawell.
The following carnivals have been selected to hold one of the series.
Woodside - Saturday 18th December 2010
St Albans - Saturday 29th January 2011
Prahran - Friday 11th February 2011
Keilor - Saturday 19th February 2011
Noble Park - Sunday 27th February 2011
Maribyrnong - Sunday 6th March 2011
Bendigo - Saturday 12th March 2011
St Bernard's - Sunday 27th March 2011

The following conditions will apply for the series.
-The series is available to athletes Under 20 years of age (Athletes must be under
20 years of age for the season)
-To compete you must fill in a VAL registration form and be 13 years or older.
-A win in the series does not eliminate you from competing in any other series.
Athletes can compete at all events in order to gain points for the Stawell final.
-Athletes that have won an open event are not eligible to compete in this series.
Athletes who have won a novice event or previous junior event can compete in
this series.
-Each event will carry prizemoney of $200 with a $5 entry fee. The final at
Stawell will be worth $500. There will be a winner's sash for each event.
We would encourage coaches to get the word out to your young athletes as
strong participation will ensure the continuation of this new series.
On behalf of the runners, trainers and members the Victorian Athletic League
would like to officially thank the "RACV" for their sponsorship of the series for the
2010-11 season.
If you have any further questions on the series please contact the VAL office.
-END OF RELEASE- 8th November 2010
