Why so

This happens every year. SAAL has Nov 1 in the nom book but delays it for a week or two. Why dont they just put MtG noms close in 2nd week in Nov and Bay in 3rd week in Nov? Make it easier on runners to spread nom fees.

SAAL made an error of judgement in pushing Mt Gambier back a week without talking to the VAL, as it now clashes with Peninsula in Vic, rather than fitting in with Terang. I could be wrong but I would expect a big reduction in the entries from Victoria for Mt G, which is a shame. A bit of communication between the 2 leagues probably could have avoided this situation.

This was mentioned on the other forum way back on Aug 10th and nothing was done about it.
If you were a Vic runner where would you rather go.
4hour drive to run at the Mount. OR nice little drive down to the peninsula to get another tick for Stawell.
Only hope the lack of Vic runners not running at the Mount this year doesnt affect sponsorship for future seasons.

Think you might find it was a Mt.Gambier decision and not the SAAL.Either way VAL,SAAL and the clubs showed lack of thought or effort in sorting this out.

Not so sure on that.
The Whyalla Gift is held in conjunction with their Food and Wine Fair.
The date of the Fair appears to have been moved back a week which would have meant travelling to Whyalla one week and then travelling to The Mount the next, something the SAAL would probably want to avoid, hence why The Mount was moved back a week.
Thats how I see it anyway, I may very well be wrong.
