Not that it will affect too many SAAL athletes, but the Olympic Games trials are on in Melbourne that weekend and there's (perhaps) a few of us going over to have a look. So I won't be able to record the results nor take any videos. Hopefully someone else can publish the results that Friday.

hey John -

Flagstaff 2012 is on my list of nominations. Twice.

After my feeble failure in the furiously fast finish of the over45s four hundred metres last year, I am keen for another shot at the big money prize which is like the grand final for the season for us over45 runners.

And this year I will warm up with the youngsters in the 120m over35s earlier in the night.

I am looking forward to another memorable night, many thanks to the SAAL and all the Flagstaff mob who do a wonderful job.

John LeRay

Apologies to V8 Super Car Fans I was wrong - it does clash. But you have 3 other days to get your fix.

News on the Flaggy Gift. Josh Dawkins, son of the late Great JD will present the Trophy in his fathers name. Brian Hart the 74 year old 120M champion will sash the winner of the John Dawkins Memorial 550M.The other traditional event at the 17th year of the Meet is the Mayors Mile. 14 Event Card with Footballers Relay and the new WAGS Relay. Toddlers running in the break for Chocolates, always a favorite with the crowd.

Weather fine, Track fast - see you there for the richest over 45's 400M in the world (not disputed to date)

Just looked at the next SAAL events and its a week till Flagstaff and three weeks to Pultney.
Just wondering if any thought was given to putting the event on next week to evenly space the events and also to avoid Clipsal.
No criticism intended but is the Flagstaf meeting locked in for the first Sun of March every year.Over 35s would be extremely pleased if it was moved away from Clipsal.

Juddy completely agrees whispers. Seems abit silly.

The only problem with moving it to the next week would be the long weekend. I guess if you love the sport you compete in you will be there, so I'll be there, flagstaff that is. There's always race 2 on Sunday. Very Happy

John LeRay

The date for the 2013 Flagstaff Gift looks likley to be Saturday 9th March 2013 from 4.00 pm. We are working with the SAAL to take into account an improved spread of meeting dates in the lead up to Stawell. The V8 Super Cars have not yet confirmed their date in March so we made a call. Other considerations each year are the Bendigo meet and SA State Championships.

Hope your winter training goes well. see you all soon.
