That's some awesome prize money, particularly for the Women's Gift semifinalists; there have been a few events where fewer than 18 competitors have made it even as far as the start line for the heat.

Unrelated topic - I noticed this a couple of weeks ago, but why did the 300 Novice/Womens/Vets become a Veterans-only event? It was a fantastic event last year, and one of only a few 300's floating around that Novice men can enter. I know my athletes had been looking forward to it all season, despite the shortage of Novice/Junior events on the program.
