Women 100 Metre ANSW Event
(Wind: 1.7)
1 Breen, Melissa 22 INTERSTATE 11.44
2 Knox, Jessica 34 UTS NORTHS 11.60
3 Wearne, Christine 25 ASICS WESTS TRACK 11.91
4 Singh, Tavleen 17 ASICS WESTS TRACK 12.34
4 Taddeo, Abbie 18 ATHLETICS WO 12.34
4 Powell, Madeleine 21 UTS NORTHS 12.34

Great start for Melissa Breen for 2012. She did run an excellent 8.44s off scratch at Devonport to win the 70m. The Devonport 70m is on a bend too, which makes the run look even better. We guessed from that she was in sub 11.6 shape, but 11.44; that is seriously quick for this time of year.

Interesting result from a SA perspective is Christine Wearne ran 11.91. Given that Alicia Wrench-Doody gave Christine 1.25m start and beat her comfortably in the 70m at the Bay Sheffield, it suggests Alicia was probably in sub 11.7 shape as at Bay time. Hopefully she can get back to that shape soon.

Also makes Kendra Hubbard's brilliant Bay Sheff win off 4.50m look pretty slick too as Christine was run out (off 4.25) in the semi final. In the heats: KH won her heat in 14.13; CW won her heat in 14.50.

Then you see Jessica Knox - 11.60 at age 34! Going to be some fast Women 100's this season.
