Plans for a dual-to-the-death gladiator event between stable heads Matt Beckingham, John Henry, Paul Young, and Mark Hipworth has been cancelled at the last minute. Not surprisingly, each coach offered a different explanation as to why the event could not proceed.

John Henry claimed to have just finished a pie, Matt Beckingham was not happy with his appearance fee, Paul Young insisted on a handicap system based on who had the most white hair, and Mark Hipworth was deep in thought wondering how he could have so many athletes winning so little prize money at this year’s carnivals.

The world’s greatest sports commentators, and honorary Nice Guy David Culbert has suggested a major 6 month review of the novelty events held at Burnie, with the possibility of more Stable Relay events. Culbert has encouraged all athletes to make suggestions at today’s Burnie Carnival.
