Devonport chases beep test entries

The Examiner
21 Dec, 2011

THE Devonport Athletic Club is struggling for entries for the beep test at next week's carnival.
The beep test was introduced two years ago and is a popular event on the second night of the carnival.

Last year Devonport received 20 entries for the beep test which is open to anyone wishing to have a go.

Athletics co-ordinator Rod Walker said entries would be taken on the night although the club would prefer them emailed to

``If we get sufficient entries the beep test will be run in divisions,'' he said.

The Devonport club will tonight make two significant announcements on sponsorship for next week.

One will involve a gallery of prizes available in a lucky program competition and the other will further boost Devonport's reputation for distance running.
