Rieti (ITA) - Saturday, Sep 10, 2011

Women - 100 Metres
Wind : -0.1 m/s
1 Schillonie Calvert [JAM] JAM 11.09
2 Sally Pearson [AUS] AUS 11.24
3 Ivet Lalova [BUL] 11.26
4 Mariya Ryemyen [UKR] 11.41
5 Mikele Barber [USA] 11.50
6 Myriam Soumaré [FRA] 11.65
7 Melissa Breen [AUS] 11.74
DNF Shelly-Ann Fraser - Pryce [JAM]

Pearson may not have broken the Australian record but to beat Ivet Lalova (SB 10.96 in July) and Mikele Barber (SB 11.09 in June) shows she's more than capable of mixing it with international top quality flat sprinters.

Men - 800 Metres

2 Adam Kszczot [POL] 1:43.30

Sammy Tangui [KEN] KEN DNF

In Rieti yesterday, Jeff Riseley became only the the third Australian to run sub 1-45. His 800m time of 1-44.64 is the 2nd fastest ever behind Ralph Doubell's 1-44.40 at the Mexico City Olympics in 1968 and the fastest time ever by an Australian at sea level, eclipsing Peter Bourke's time of 1-44.78, recorded at the Brisbane Commonwealth Games in 1982.
